A small file placed in your browser when you visit a website. Some are essential for the shop to work; others help us understand what is viewed, or show you our jewellery elsewhere on the web. This page also covers similar technologies that store or read information on your device.
Without them the shop does not work: your basket would empty on every page, and you would be asked about cookies on every visit.
| Cookie | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| `cart`, `cart_currency` | Remembers your basket and its currency | Up to 2 weeks |
| `localization` | Remembers your delivery country | 1 year |
| `_secure_session_id` | Secures your session and payment | 24 hours |
| Consent cookie | Remembers your answer to the banner | 12 months |
They link the pages of one visit, so that we can replay your journey through the site (pages, clicks, mouse movements, never what you type in a form). We use them only to collect statistics on how the site is used and to improve it. They are set even if you refuse cookies in the banner. To object, email us at contact@maisonfermoir.com, or delete them in your browser.
| Cookie | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| _clck | Recognises your browser from one visit to the next | 1 year |
| _clsk | Links the pages of one visit | 1 day |
They tell us how many people visit and what they look at, never who they are.
| Source | What it measures |
|---|---|
| Shopify (`_shopify_y`, `_shopify_s`) | Visits and journeys through the shop |
| Google Analytics (`_ga`, `_ga_*`) | Audience, pages viewed, where visitors come from |
They let us show you our jewellery elsewhere on the web after your visit, and tell us whether our ads work.
| Source | What it does |
|---|---|
| Google Ads (`_gcl_au`) | Measures ads and builds audiences |
| Meta, Facebook and Instagram (`_fbp`) | Measures ads and builds audiences |
Judge.me, which shows customer reviews on product pages, sets its own cookies to remember a review you are writing and to avoid duplicates.
A banner appears on your first visit. You can accept, refuse, or choose family by family. Until you have accepted, audience measurement and advertising cookies do not run, except for the Microsoft Clarity cookies described above.
Google still receives, from the moment you arrive, a minimal signal that sets no cookie and cannot recognise you from one visit to the next: it only says that a page was viewed or an order placed, and whether you accepted or refused. Google uses it to estimate, in aggregate and anonymously, how well our ads perform. If you refuse, advertising data is removed from these signals.
Refusing changes nothing: the shop, the basket and payment work exactly the same.
The Cookie preferences link, at the bottom of every page, reopens the banner. Your new choice replaces the old one immediately.
You can also delete cookies in your browser settings, or set it to block them. Strictly necessary cookies will then be blocked too, and some features will stop working.
What these cookies collect, who handles it and how long we keep it is set out in our privacy policy.
