Silver Necklaces

Silver does not try to get noticed, and that is exactly why you keep wearing it. It blends into greys, blues and black, and it stays as it is.

The silver necklace that asks for nothing

There are two ways to wear jewellery: to be seen, or simply to be there. A silver necklace belongs to the second. It does not chase the light, it returns it without insisting, and it ends up part of your silhouette in the same way as a watch.

It is the easiest colour to live with. It clashes with nothing, it never dates an outfit, and it lets the clothes do the talking. In a wardrobe built around grey, navy and black, silver is the one metal that blends in rather than adding something.

Silver colour, silver metal: what it means here

A necklace in silver as a precious metal has a well-known flaw: it oxidises. It darkens in the air, with perspiration and with scented products, and it needs regular care to stay bright.

Our silver necklaces for women are made in stainless steel with a silver finish. The choice is deliberate and it can be defended in one sentence: stainless steel won't tarnish on skin, and it won't leave a green mark.

The other side of the coin: it is not a precious metal, and we do not present it as one. The exact material of every piece is listed in its specifications.

What you will find in silver

Silver is not a corner of the catalogue, it is a complete reading of it. Almost all our motifs exist in this colour.

The silver heart necklace, whose outline looks sharper in silver than in gold. The silver cross necklace, worn for faith, for family or simply for its line. Our beach and ocean necklaces, where silver joins haematite and white to create a cool-water mood rather than warm sand. The silver charm necklace, built charm by charm. The silver chain necklace, the most understated way to wear metal. And the silver choker necklace, which sits against the skin at the base of the neck.

Many pieces exist in both colours: the same design, two characters. You choose on the product page, with the colour swatch.

Silver or gold: decide in ten seconds

Look at what you already wear. A watch, a wedding ring, earrings you never take out: match the necklace to them, and the question is settled.

If you have no reference point: silver suits cool outfits and strong contrasts, gold suits warm outfits and beige. And if you wear both depending on the day, mixing metals stopped being a mistake a long time ago: two chains in different colours, layered together, work perfectly, as long as you own the fact that it is intentional.

Length matters more than colour

A point that applies to the whole catalogue but is easy to forget here: the height at which a necklace falls changes the look more than its colour does.

Our silver necklaces range from short lengths, against the skin, to the mid length that falls below the collarbone and goes with everything. One piece drops lower, as a silver long necklace.

Almost all the chains are adjustable: the extender chain lets you move from one length to another as you fasten it, with no mirror and no tools.

Three mistakes people make with a silver necklace

Choosing it because it shines in the photo. Metal is judged when worn, not in a shop window. Silver always looks more discreet in pictures than it does on the neck, where it catches the light from your face.

Saving it for dark outfits. Silver also works on white, ecru and denim, where it adds a cool note that stops the outfit looking washed out. It is gold that disappears there, not silver.

Always wearing it alone. A short silver chain layered with a longer one creates a depth no single piece can give. A dainty silver necklace under a longer chain costs nothing to try with what you already own.

Care, in three steps

This is where silver-coloured stainless steel differs from precious silver: it won't tarnish on skin, whereas sterling silver needs regular care to stay bright.

Three steps are enough. Take it off before the shower, the pool and the gym. Put on your perfume before your necklace, never after: alcohol attacks the finish and dulls faux pearls. Store it somewhere dry in its box, away from your other jewellery so nothing rubs.

Every necklace is sent in its gift box, ready to give just as it is.
